Brève présentation | Le projet BASIS aborde le thème du renforcement des capacités dans l’amélioration de la pertinence et de l’inclusivité de l’enseignement supérieur. Les activités et interventions du projet se concentrent sur six établissements d’enseignement supérieur de 3 pays d’Afrique subsaharienne à savoir le Togo, le Sénégal et l’Ouganda. |

Objectif général | OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To support partner HEIs in Africa in improving the relevance and inclusiveness of higher education |
Objectifs spécifiques | SO1) To reshape student practice and shift it from teaching to competence-based practical work, and introduce farm placements to enhance student employability SO2) To build capacities and strengthen policies of partner HEIs to promote social inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility of agricultural education |
Résultats attendus | 1) 36 HEI teaching staff will become acquainted with the significance of farm-oriented, competence-based practice in improving relevance of HE and strengthening students’ employability skills (D2.1) 2) 24 HEI teaching and 12 non-teaching staff will acquire knowledge and skills to independently develop and further improve student practice development protocols (D2.5) 3) 300 students in the lifetime of the project will be immediate beneficiaries of newly established practice models (D2.7.1), and additional 150 students will benefit from placements (D2.7.2) 4) 90 farmers and/or farm mangers will be trained to host students as a part of their practice (D2.6) 5) 36 HEI teaching staff will know how to organize farm data collection (D3.2) 6) 36 HEI teaching staff will know how to use modern farm data management software (D3.3) 7) 36 HEIs teaching staff will know how to apply farm data management protocols (D3.3) 8) 6 partner HEIs will receive mentoring support from EU HEIs in implementing farm data management protocols (D3.6) 9) 150 students will develop technical skills to collect and manage farm data (D3.7) 10) 48 HEI teaching staff will know how to use the analysed farm data for the purpose of research and teaching (D3.8) |
